Here we’ve gathered some amazing work done by Japanese artists in MediBang Paint. Below each picture we added some brief comments the artists gave on the pieces. This gallery is an example of what can be done with MediBang Paint’s tools.
In order to give preference to the picture’s atmosphere several layers of color were used. To give a sharp impression a black and white base with red. Then used some complimentary colors to bring out the atmosphere. I used light and dark areas in an attempt to control where the viewer’s attention is drawn.
For this picture I just used a normal painting style. After deciding what kind of atmosphere and color I wanted I tried to paint using as few colors as possible.
The theme for this piece was cybernetics and the sky. I ended up drawing girls flying through the air using some kind of futuristic flying gear. I mainly used the watercolor brush and airbrush for this. For most of the lighting I used the Add and blending mode.
For this picture I wanted to draw a character who is supposed to be a Star Princess. I wanted to have her floating through space among colorful stars. Working on her hair and costumes was probably the most fun part of this picture.
I used the watercolor brush for this to make this piece feel like a painting. Overall the piece has a very relaxed feeling to it so I added some clouds in various patterns.
I like plants and stars and stuff like that so I had fun working on this. I used light blue, violet and pink for a base and was careful not to add to many colors.
Focusing on the light source and shading I did the characters and background on screen and overlay layers. I tried to do my best to give it a sense of depth.
I found the pencil brush to be extremely easy to work with for the inework. When coloring I carefully played with the brush opacity and tried to make the colors pop.
Usually, I only use Photoshop when drawing digitally, but I was able to pick up MediBang Paint with no problems. I was able to do everything I needed to do, and I felt compfortable while doing it.
It was compatible with my graphics tablet and I felt like I had a lot of control over my line work due to the various brush settings.
This software could easily be used to make work for publication, and can easily share your work with a friend or coworker to be checked.
The Acrylic (wet) brush is very smooth and made drawing hair easy.
