What to do when you can’t think of what you want to draw

I want to draw an illustration, but I don’t know what to draw!
I can’t think of a composition! This is a course for beginners.
This lecture is for beginners who want to draw an illustration but can’t think of what they want to draw or how to compose it.
I hope it will give you a hint on how to think when you create.

1. I don’t know what to draw

1. First, find out what you like!
First of all, think of what you like!
First of all, think about what you like! You may like “cute girls” or “cool boys”, or you may like “non-humans”…
What you like will give you a clue to what you want to draw.
Think about the atmosphere of the games you often play, what kind of anime characters you like…
Let’s think about all these things and find out what you like!

2. Add what you like!
Once you have an idea of what you like, try adding more and more elements of what you like!
For example, “cute girl”, “cat ears”, and “moe sleeves”.
For example, a cute girl with cat ears and moe sleeves.

2. I can’t think of a composition

Think of a situation!
Once you have decided what you want to draw, the next step is composition.
The next step is composition.
If that’s the case, try to think of a situation where you think the character is cute or cool.
Let’s do it!
If you can’t think of a situation, think of a situation where you think the character is cute or cool!
For example, let’s add a “hand over the mouth, looking up”.

I also added another element, “Room with cushions”.
In this way, by adding elements, you can think about composition without worrying too much.

 

3. If you still can’t think of anything

1. Try to “add what you like”!
If you can’t come up with a composition or something you want to draw, you probably don’t have a lot of things you like.
If you can’t come up with a composition or something you want to draw, you probably don’t have much to draw from.
If you do these things first, you’ll get an idea of what you want to draw.

2. Use a tress material
I can’t think of a composition! I just want to draw!
If you have no idea what you want to draw, you can use tress material to draw an illustration.
If you can’t think of a composition and just want to draw!

I would like to draw an illustration using the following tress material.
I’m going to use the following tress material to draw an illustration of a girl with a gun, and I’ve chosen “fighting girls” as the theme!

After adding various elements using the method of adding elements explained above, I drew this illustration with the elements “fighting girl,” “high school student,” “long black hair,” and “intercom!

This is the way to think when you don’t know what to draw or can’t think of a composition, and if you still can’t think of a composition, use tress material to draw your illustration!
