In this article, I’d like to explain how to draw a character from a bird’s eye view!

1. Draw the pose you want to draw from the side!

First, think about the pose you want to draw!

2. Think about the composition from an overhead view!

Next, let’s figure out the composition!
Personally, I think it’s a good idea to think about composition as if you were a photographer!

When drawing an overhead body, it’s best to start with an image of the character as if he’s inside a box!

Depending on the pose, it may stick out, but it’s just a guide.

 

3. Be aware of what you can’t see!

The key to drawing is to be aware of the thickness of the body!
I drew a line on the previous illustration to make it easier to understand.

Even if you can’t see it, you can ask yourself, “Is this what it’s supposed to look like? You will be able to draw difficult overhead poses by thinking “Is this what it looks like?
