MediBang News Vol.7 Research on the drawing posture!
Hello everyone ! This is person No.4 of MediBang Paint’s development team.
I always wanted to know… Aren’t you curious how other artists sit / lay down while drawing…?
Well, I’m super curious about it.
So, I decided to open a poll to research everyone’s drawing posture ! !
In total, I received 10350 votes on the poll. Thank you so so much ! !
So in this news, I will be talking about the results from my poll.
I hope this helps you in finding the best drawing environment.
*Please note, some postures may impact your health so be careful…
These were the voting results !
1ST PLACE | ① Draw on a desk, while sitting on a chair | 3438 votes |
2ND PLACE | ⑦ Draw on their lap, holding their knees | 1987 votes |
3RD TIE | ② Draw on a desk, while sitting on a legless chair / floor seat | 1875 votes |
3RD TIE | ④ Draw on a floor / bed etc., facing down | 1875 votes |
5TH PLACE | ⑥ Draw on a floor / bed etc., facing the side | 677 votes |
6TH PLACE | ⑤ Draw on a floor / bed etc., facing up | 418 votes |
LAST | ③ Draw on a desk, standing and without a chair | 80 votes |
As expected, the standard position came first.
① Draw on a desk, while sitting on a chair
You can learn from this result that it’s always the ideal and the best position to work properly with a chair and a desk since drawing can be a long process.
I also want… a clean room… so I can place a desk… someone please … ! (…I’m super lazy)
Second place was unexpected;
⑦ Draw on their lap, holding their knees
I also sit in this posture when I draw on the tablet. Personally, I find it SUPER comfortable to sit and draw like this but… with my back curved for a long time, it’s pretty painful.
This is really a challege for survival… If you have any tips to alleviate back pain, please tell me… /srs
Finally, I never thought there would be 80 votes for
③ Draw on a desk, standing and without a chair …!
There were comments like “It’s for anti-stoop” and “I can draw while cooking” which made a lot of sense why this was chosen.
It still makes me question how you wouldn’t get leg pains though… lol
By the way, my boss Tanny also works in this style at home. (It’s good for their health apparently)
From here, I will be introducing some unique postures sent by MediBang users !
*The illustrations are drawn based on the replies and attached images I received.
Index
① Draw sitting cross-legged
② Draw sitting on a legless chair while tugging their knees
③ Draw with the tablet placed on top of many pillows above their legs
④Draw holding their knees but sitting on a small chair
⑤Draw on the bed surrounded by cussions and pillows
Extra: Draw with the tablet placed on the floor
That was it !
Did you find your drawing posture ?
By the way, this research results will be shared within our company to improve the lifestyle of artists,
so maybe we can collaborate and produce chairs that give us artists inifinite concentration like “Special chairs made for effective drawing” or “Wonderful cussions that prevent back pain in all positions” etc. (This is all in my imagination for now…)
See you again soon !
