I’ll teach you how to make manga at ART street Manga Tutorial! Let’s have fun and learn!

In this course, you can learn how to draw manga with MediBang Paint for beginners.
Remember, you don’t always have to follow this turorial. Your createveness is infinite!
This tutorial is based on MediBang Paint for PC.

This time, as a prelude to the course, I will explain the basic process of drawing manga.

Manga Tutorial for Beginners 02 Let’s Make Outline (Part 1)

1. Plannning

First of all, you need to think about ideas such as character, story, and etc.
You can decide whether you plan everything before you start drawing or think about it as you draw, but it is better to have some idea of what you want, because it is difficult to make a story if you start from absolute scratch.

2. Name (Storyboard for Comics)

Name is like a rough design in illustration.
I start with drawing simple illustration.
At this step, the frame layout, dialogues, camera work, and other production parts are mostly decided.

3. Rough

I draw rough line drawing. Please think about final line drawing when you draw in this step.

4. Inking in a Pencil Drawing

I ink in a pencil drawing on rough. My procedure of inking is ”Border → Speech Bubble → Person → Background → Effect line → Text”.

5. Spot Fill

Spot Fill is a process of filling spot with black. Some people done this process in Inking.

6. Tone & Finishing

I put and adjust tone. Please think about balance of a page.
Afterward, I add some graze of light and adjust speech bubbles for finishing!

7. Export
