【Idea】How to draw a sticker & Pose materials!
The sticker function found in various social media platforms, you probably use it often too.
There are a variety of expressions, making the stickers useful for communication.
Have you ever thought about “making your own sticker”?
In this tutorial, I introduce the tips for drawing illustrations for stickers and also a set of poses you can use for reference.
I hope this becomes helpful for you.
Index
Pay attention to making it fit the square shape
It depends on the social media service but the images used for stickers are usually in a size close to a regular square.
So…
Make sure to create a design that fits the square perfectly, that doesn’t leave too much space around the illustration.
You will be able to see the design very clearly, also making it stand out as well!
Gathering pose materials
Let’s draw a couple poses that can be used for stickers!
Start by drawing the base part, the head.
I drew a front face and an angled face.
I will be making a list of poses using these two heads.
List of poses!
I drew some poses as you can see below.
You can use these as the rough sketch and create stickers as well.
I first drew a few poses that can be easily applicable for stickers!
Always check if you can see the emotions from poses/expressions clearly and also pay attention to making poses with varying silhouettes (figures).
I also included a more expressive pose and ones with objects as well.
The tip here is to make sure the size of the head doesn’t fluctuate too much.
Examples
Let’s use this one to design a sticker.
Sketch it out and…
create a line drawing.
I painted the colors as well!
but this doesn’t feel enough for a sticker…
I will be adding a little detail now.
I created a pop look by thickening the outline of the illustration.
And also drew in effects to make it cute!
I think it now looks much more sticker-like.
That was it for this tutorial!
Lastly
How was this tutorial?
You can create a sticker based on the poses I drew and maybe arrange it to your style once you get used to it.
Let’s create and use your own stickers!
