Brush Settings

Basic

Name

You can rename any brush to its own custom name.

Size

Increase or decrease the brush size.

Opacity

Increase or decrease the brush opacity.

Minimum Width

Controls the smallest size of the strokes with pen pressure.

Type

Changes the brushes type (Bitmap (Multi), Bitmap watercolor (Multi), Scatter (Multi), and Scatter Watercolor (Multi)).

Size by Pressure

When turned on, this changes the size of the brush to correspond with the amount of pressure applied with the pen.

Opacity by Pressure

When turned on, this changes the opacity of the brush to correspond with the amount of pressure applied with the pen.

Soft Edge

When turned on it smoothes and softens the edges of any brush.

Ease of Mixing Colors

Controls how much color the brush will blend together. When set to a higher level, colors blend very easily.

Load Color

Controls whether or not the active color mixes with the colors that were already laid on the canvas.

Brush Spacing

Controls the density of a brush.

Rotate Along

Rotating a brush refers to changing the angle or orientation of the brush tip.

Random Rotate

This introduces a degree of randomness to the rotation of the brush tip. When this option is enabled, each brush stroke you make will have a different angle, with the amount depending on how high you set the slider.

Apply Foreground Color

Uses the primary color for the brush.

Color Jitter

Adds random variations to saturation and brightness for diverse and vibrant brush strokes

Hue Jitter

Introduces random variations to the color (hue) of brush strokes, which helps create a natural and varied appearance in the coloring

Force Fade In/Out

This refers to the technique to make the beginning and ending of brush strokes thinner than the middle, as seen in calligraphy.
